Dartford crossing toll

Dartford Crossing[1] is part of the M25 motorway route and connects Dartford in Kent in the south and Thurrock in Essex in the north. It crosses the river Thames and consists of two tunnels that carry the northbound traffic and the Queen Elizabeth II bridge carrying southbound traffic. It is a major bypass of Greater London.

Local resident discount on Dart charge

A local resident discount is available at the Dartford crossing toll. It is available if Council Tax is paid to Dartford borough council or Thurrock council. 

The options included are- 

  • Pay £20 a year to use the Dartford Crossing as many times as you want

How to pay Dart charge

The Dart charge is applicable between 6 am to 10 pm for every vehicle. It is the same charge that would apply every day, including weekends and bank holidays. 

Dart charge payments[4] can be made through the following ways-

  • Online at the Gov.uk website[5].
  • By phone on 300 0120 0300 300 0120
  • By textphone on 0300 300 0120 18001 0300 300 0120
  • At any retail outlet with a Payzone terminal. You can find the nearest by visiting payzone.co.uk.
  • By post in advance to Dart Charge, PO Box 842, Leeds LS1 9QF
  • With a pre-paid Dart Charge account[6] and make a one-off payment.

How long do I have to pay the Dart Charge

Dart Charge can be paid until midnight the day after crossing. Payments can also be made online for up to a year before making the crossing.
